Hey guys,

I recently got a pair of endler's livebearers from an LFS and when i put them in my 10g tank, it didn't seem that they liked the current produced by the filter. I have an HOB that came with the tank. Is there any way I can reduce the flow?

what kind of filter is it? can you turn it down? if not can you add something to the tank to break up the current like a rock? how did you determine your fish do not like the current?

I don't really know the brand....i bought it at petco and i can't turn down the current. It just looked like they had difficulty swimming around the current, so i quickly turned it off. Maybe that wasn't a good assessment, lol. I'll leave it on longer and see how they like it, maybe they were just playing in the current.

turn it back on and observe them. if they truly appear to be struggling then you may have an issue but it sounds like you might be OK. not trying to be funny but most fish are good swimmers. if they were having problems with the flow they would likely be able to find a spot in the tank where it wasn't so strong. if not you can create a rest spot with some simple landscaping.

Good idea.
