I read online that you should "ALWAYS" put polystyrene under aquariums? What do you think? Where can I get it?

...or the hard rubber matting you can get at the hardware store.

...or felt window insulation stripping.

These are for distributing the weight of large tanks all along the bottom edges. Not required for a ten-gallon tank.

I use it under all my tanks for security - you can never be sure the bottom of the tank and the surface are completely free from specks that could create a pressure point.

I just buy cheap polystyrene ceiling tiles.
