Hi

This is a great site with a wealth of information for newbies like me.

I bought a 24L tank about a year a go from a LFS, i was told to go home set it up and i could put fish in the tank 5 days later.

I started to research the web to see what fish i would get then i found this site and others thats when i found out about fisfless cycling, cycled my tank and stocked it with the following

04 harliquins
03 neon tetras
03 Peppered Cory cats

Then some months later added a sucking loach, and a red tail black shark and a male guppy, now i know what your thinking, all that fish in a 24L tank, overstocked or what, but i never had a problem, never lost a fish, all fish are in tack and seem healthy and happy.

I recently bought a 150L Caymen Scenic Ferplast tank and stand, cycled the tank without fish but using seed from my 24L tank. 2 weeks later the tank is cycled, transfered the fish from the first tank to there new home a week ago, testing the water every day and one 25% water change since they have been in there, everything going well, the RTBS has calmed down, he was starting to get aggressive in the small tank.

I returned the chineese sucking loach to my LFS as he was starting to suck on my other fish.

Yesterday while i was there they had a Golden nuggett pleco (L081), i had to have it, what a beautiful fish, added him to the tank and all is going well, the shark is not even bothered by the plec.

So i now have the following fish

04 harliquins
03 neon tetras
03 Peppered Cory cats
01 Male guppy
01 Red Tail Black Shark
01 Golden nugget

I would like to add 2 to 3 yo yo loaches at a later stage but im i pushing the stocking levels a bit?

I have been searching threads on here for a while and decided that now my tank is up and running i would post a few pictures.

Great tank, and not overstocked at all!!

But a bit of advice: I would make the corys atleast 5, the rasboras about 6, and the neons 8, and then you would have some reeeeally nice schooling going on.

Nice tank! Good fish pictures. Happy to see you are being cautious about the number of fish in your tank.

Its Mopani root, bought it from LFS, it comes from africa and is sand blasted to remove contaminats, should be available from any LFS i would have thought.

Unfortunatley mopani wood is not available in all pet stores.

The piece you have looked like the grapevine stuff that looks really good but is a mess in a tank.

Thanks for the reply.
