This tank is roughly 2 months old. Before anyone metnions it, I know i have to fill up the tank. Please feel free to leave feedback on the tank. Thanks and Enjoy.

What is that thing in pic#8? I found it on the glass last night, the shape is similar to a small seastar, I have no idea what it is...any ideas?

sweet looking tank. picture 8 is an asternia star. they will only get about that big. and they also multiply quickly!

I just noticed that i already have a second one that is on the adjacent side of the tank. What do the asternia stars do?

they dont really do anything. They will eat some micro algae on the glass and diatoms and such. They just scavage and are a part of yoru clean up crew.

awesome, thanks fishieness. nothing better than a free beneficial addition to the tank. just got home and i noticed that my fragspawn is secreting some sort of a mucous like substance, what exactly is that?

could be a few things. if you recently fed it a lot, it oculd just be waste (poop). or if it is stressed, it coudl even be zooxanthellae which is the beneficial algae that gives your frogspawn food. the latter of the two is not a good thing. Also, it coudl jsut be secreting a lot of slime because it is stressed or there are a lot of oils in the tank. I would say it is most likely a harmless thing. But if it doesnt stop and starts to look worse, id ask on here again. or if you can get apicture of it now, that might also help.

thanks alot fishieness your help is appreciated. if it gets worse i will definitley post another pic.
