Well, my johanni finally produced.. after much serious posturing and arguments.

This means I`ve got over 30 fry now in my fry tank and they are all thriving.
They get a batch of newly hatched brine shrimp every other day, with crushed flake in between.

The first batch since I got started - about 1.5cm are able to get stuck into spirula tabs now no problem.

I don't have a bunch of tanks for different fry ages, so some will need brine shrimp and others are more advanced diets. I have used egg based fry food for very young fry. I hope to sell the fish on to contribute to costs, so anyone who keeps and raises the young - how should I proceed?
At this rate, I`ll be overrun with fry before they are sellable size :)

I haven't lost one yet, and they seem really hardy. I considered moving the bigger ones to the main tank when they reach say, 2cm or 2.5cm maybe?

keep what you can and when you have too many suck out the eggs before they become fry. do that until you have money or space or what ever is holding you back for some fry tanks.
