i want to get a salamander, but can he go in my fishtank without killing himself/ my fish?

salamanders are amphibious.. not aquatic. meaning it will need an area in which to crawl and breather air.. not just swim up and get a breath.

Some salamanders have an aquatic and terrestrial life-stage (most are purely amphibians), but I would not recommend them for a traditional aquarium.

well u can have a half land, half water set up like the tank that i own. i have oriental fire bellied newts, so they wont harm any fishes. plus they're always on land since my tank is very humid

half and half is so much fun. a little more work, but worth it.

that sounds fun, actually... thanks for the idea! but i think i'll wait and set up a seperate tank when i move to NC =)
