I was thinking about adding some Bolivian Rams to my 29 gallon. Are Bolivian Rams compatible with the fish I have in my tank?

My 29 gallon is currently stocked with:

-6 Neons
-3 Ghost Shrimp
-2 Black Widow Tetras
-2 White Skirt Tetras
-1 Powder Blue Dwarf Gourami
-2 Mickey Mouse Platties
-2 Cories

I kept 2 Bolivians in a 29 for years. Just don't get any more than 2, as they need space to claim their territories. They may harrass/kill your ghost shrimp, but all your fish will be fine. Bolivians basically don't pay any attention to fish other than other Bolivians, and they spend the vast majority of their time in the bottom half of the tank. They prefer a planted tank (real or fake would be fine) and they like rocks, driftwood, and caves as well. Anyplace they can hide will be appreciated, and you will find that the more places they have to hide, the more they will be out and about.

Mine never bothered my amano shrimp, so it's possible that it won't happen. But don't be surprised if it does. ;)

I kept 6 (young) bolivians in a 29 until I could better determine their sex.

As it turned out, I had 5 males and one female. A few of the males would lock jaws from time to time, but I had several caves and a few pieces of driftwood to divide things up.

I kept quite a few panda corys and some HS Tetras, neither of which ever ran into any harassment from the bolivians.

I eventually moved all the rams to a 55, and had two different males pair with the female. The dominant male spawned with her about 4 times, and it was awesome watching them guard the fry.

The weakest of the males did die from being picked on too much, but the 4 males and one female lived fine together in the 55.

They are some of my favorite fish--good luck.

actually, Bolivian rams are quite social..when they aren't spawning.

they will interact with other rams. until they feel the need to spawn..
you can house more in the 20 but you need structure and line of sight blockage in that structure.

they will need to develop territory. when mine aren't spawning..they stick together.

I didn't have that experience. I tried keeping 4 in my 29, but even with no spawns they fought so much that they actually hurt each other and I had to move 2 of them. My tank was full of rock and plants so line of sight was not the issue. Sometimes it just doesn't work out, I guess.
