I was thinking of makeing a complete ecosystem
i want frogs
lizards/newts/salamanders/anoles
fish
and plants
what critters would you suggest getting

It is generally not advisable to mix different species of reptile/amphibians together.
If you wanted to focus on one species, the design might work. Please remember that despite anyone's best attempts, no tank can ever come close to a balanced ecosystem.

yeah, such a thing will be hard to do in a small tank. a coworker of mine has a 8*4*4 foot tank in his office complete with tree frogs, various fish, and anoles.
How large of a tank are you planning anyway? that'll help us give you better answers.......

yeah........thats going to be pretty difficult to accomplish on such a small scale.
