I flled the tank 4 days ago and maked the following water test
ph=8
gh=12
kh=8

I used tetra aqua safe for chlorin and tetra ph/kh minus to lower
ph, and tetra easy balance all in the same day, i run the filter 24 h
and air stone so the tank is good airated.

I puted 6 Guppy + 2 Bala shark

From the time when i puted it all the Gubbys are stiked on the water surfase and are stady, refusing to eat any think.
Today 1 Guppy eat alittle 2 guppy died, the 2 Shark eat alittle
All the fishes start to go arround the tank and on the bottom
but but seems in no good condition.
Please I need help

hey wt1961, Welcome To AC!

First of all, I think you may need to do a little research on cycling a tank. Your pH kH and gH readings are moot until the tank cycles. the reading to check now are ammonia, nitrIte and nitrAte. until both ammonia and nitrIte read ZERO, your tank is going through the cycling process which can do a lot of harm to fish. your best bet is to stay vigorous on your water changes and keep the ammonia and nitrItes under control. in the future, fishless cycling is a much better (faster) methos of preparing a tank for fish.

I reccomend visiting the Freshwater Newbies (http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=20) forum and check out the "sticky" topics about cycling.

What size is the tank. If you just give us the measurements of the edges, we can work with that. Bala sharks get large, so you may not want to have them in that tank, but the measurements will tell us for sure.

Ph 8 is a bit high for guppies i think not sure about Balas. when you introduced them did you just put them in or acclimate them to the water slowly? this could cause a problem if your water is very diffrent from the place where you purchased the fish.

Also you say they are stuck at the surface of the tank, take a look at them for me are they breathing visibly? if so what temperature are you keeping the tank at? they be starved for oxygen

plus as the others read up on the newbie forum about cycling your tank and do water changes everyday if you want your fish to survive! at least 20%. if you can let the water you are going to be adding sit in a bucket over night with de-chlorinator in. Also if you can add a few live plants to the tank, something liek a clump of java moss or java fern or another hardy easy plant that will make the cycle easier on your fish
