Tonight was an interesting night. I pulled out an 18" worm out of my tank (I have a pic if you would like to see it). It appeared to be a brittle worm but not one I have seen before.

Anyhoo, there is another worm (I think) on my gorgonia. I am attaching a pic. He stays there all the time and has activity at night on the gorgonia. He doesn't move from that spot much. If there is any doubt he is bad I am cutting that limb off!

Thanks!

Mike

I don't trust worms that stay on a single coral. They could be predatory, consuming the polyps. I would watch the gorgonian closely--if it is not feeding regularly, or seems to suffer where the worm is, get that thing out of there. I've lost a flower pot to a worm before, so am leary of worms that I can't identify, and seem to remain in one specific location (ie, only on the coral).
