I have now converted my tank to a planted tank. So far I have successful anubius and microsword. Sorry for the green tent I am just getting the upper hand on the algea bloom, but had to share anyways.

I think that I am finally getting the upper hand on the algae bloom. I added a UV sterilizer to my canister filter's inlet line, and within 2 days I have noticed a difference.

Lookin good!
Just a suggestion....if you want the Microsword to spread faster, then plant it in small bunches and not in the big bunch. :)

Here is an updated picture of my tank. My anubius is growing very well, and the micro chain swords are growing faster than I can trim it, or so it seems.

nice update - the first pictures looked like the tank was under attack via BGA - dont see it in the latest pics.

Nicely done. I like the way you laid it out, from a forest or jungle on the right to "grassy plains" on the left.

Very little is the Nana, mostly I have anubius barteri although some is coffeefolia.

That was kind of the idea I had. 55 gallon tanks have very shallow depth so I decided to aquascape it from side to side instead of front to back. I think it is progressing nicely. I hope to eventually get a 48"x24"x24" tank so that I can do more.

It has been a constant battle but I am winning. My green water went away fairly swiftly after I installed the UV sterilizer, and I am learning tons about proper lighting and fertilizing. This forum has some amazing information on it.
Thanks everyone for your comments. I appreciate them.
just checking back and saw your update proverbs - that's a tank to be proud of. well done & hope you're enjoying it.
