I've been battling BBA for about 3 months. Last weekend I tore my tank down and scrubbed everything down, replaced all the infected plants, and so on. I have 3 t-5 fixtures on my tank:

They each come with 1 6700K bulb and 1 "ColorMax full-spectrum". The Colormax
bulb is pinkish in color, and is much brighter than the 6700k. Could they possibly be adding to my algae problem? Should I change them all to the 6700k bulbs? I am running 96 watts and growing hornwort, moneywort, watersprite and red ludwiga. I do weekly water changes faithfully, and am dosing ferts per Rex Griggs instructions. I am also dosing Flourish excel as well as 1-2 liter bottle diy CO2.

at three months isn't it likely to get an algae problem as a symptom of something missing for the plants? seems like that was what mine was doing at around 2 months now, and working the co2 out has made the algae start to dissapear over the last 3 days. today, out of no where, my plants were bubbling oxygen... I have 10 hours of 28 watts same light as you, 2x6700k 2xcolormax, diy jello co2, and dose with kents freshwater, but not heavily. every day things look better.

two weeks ago, my co2 was leaky and weak, and I was flora pride, and algae was growing faster than you can imagine.

you probably didn't need to tear down, just adjust the paramters.

but what do I know, I'm new to it.

I love those lights, by the way, I wish they made them for 20" tanks too. they are so compact and easy to deal with.

Um, be very, very careful with American-Flag fish. They can become very aggressive and will shred tails of other fish, smaller, bigger, doesn't matter. From reading the multitude of posts re: AFF's, they also may or may not be any good at eating algae, seems to depend on luck of the draw. They are neat fish, but I didn't need the hassle so mine got the boot.

Don't believe me, have a gander at some of the heated discussions about them, kind of entertaining:
