i know there might be a huge list.

but just want to ask if i could plant amazon swords, other kind of swords, large plants that go straight up. like vals. etc. etc. i might be a little vague here. but what would i need to do to plant these plants?

flourite is a must for these plants?
I'm going to be using root tabs for sure
2 x 2 litre bottle diy co2 on a 45 gal.

btw, the surface area of the tank is 36Lx18W. height of the tank will no exceed 18 inches.

I'm using 2 x double strip normal lightning. equaling 120 watts. plus a mini fixture that contains 15 more watts.

must i do flourite though? that stuff could get expensive for a 2 inch gravel bed.

oh, one more thing, is a aquaclear 300 without it's lid covering bad idea? since it exposes a pretty big surface with fast flowing water.
thanks!

I have a 45 gallon 36Lx12Wx24H and my amazon sword is growing to the top. They can use all the tank height you give them.

Try some plants and see. That's the best way to learn which plants work and which ones don't. My LFS (where I bought most of my plants) has taken a few plants back when they weren't doing well. Ijust traded them for something else.

Experimentation is half of the fun :)
