Does anyone know any type of fish that can live in a 2.5 gallon sw tank? I have one set up that I want to keep in my classroom, but I'm not sure what I can put in it. I kind of wanted something colorful for the kids.

Thanks!

2.5 is quite small for a SW tank, and a bit tough to keep your water chems stable. I'm no saltie expert but I think making this tank saltie will be limited to a shimp or two.

You could do a catalina goby (maybe even a breeding pair) but they are cooler water so that limits your other choices.

Thanks Jojo, but the lighting in the tank keeps it right around 80 degrees.:wall:

I've posted a pic of the tank as well, sorry about the pic quality. I found out yesterday that there is also a pistol shrimp in there.

bunch of tube worms in there and some corals maybe a few sexy shrimp and if you hook up a sump to add gallonage and filter power a clown goby or neon goby.
but i think inverts are best, and honestly if you do them right they look pretty good too.

Yeh, i think a yellow or green clown would be neat. Do you have a bigger tank to put the guy in if things run afoul?

I would go with a mantis or pistol shrimp. I was going to start a 2.5 pico but instead I got a kick @$$ crowntail. I got a 10G that im playing with.
