NICE: DIY CO2 Bottle suggestion

nice but pricey for the bottle.

I used a tall olive jar with two holes for a gas separator with lots of hot glue. That bottle is "sexy" though. I don't use a gas separator anymore, I set the yeast in a bowl to keep foaming down.

I've been emailing back and forth with this Fishleur guy to see if the connectors will work with my current CO2 tubing (sizewise). He also has an auction for a smaller amount for like $5-$7.

I like that container, definitely rich for my blood. I'm thinking of using those new unbreakable lexan (or whatever) sports bottles for my DIY CO2. They typically have good seals and shouldn't be much harder to drill into the cap than a pop bottle. You can find these bottles cheap in multi-packs from the warehouse stores, and on clearance at Targets. The ones linked are graduated...nice.

By the time you buy all that stuff & a year's worth of sugar, you could have gone pressurized (or be very close).

Darnit Squawkbert, you had to be the voice of reason, didn't you. :silly:

Well, now you'll be on the hook for sending my wife a cost/benefit analysis when I decide to go pressurized.
