Ok, this is my list for my 75g:
4 Otos
8 Peppered Corys
2 Honey Gouramis (1 male 1 female, not the dwarf kind)
3 Sparkling Gouramis
3 Female Bettas (Not fin nippers, trust me)
8 Cherry Barbs
8 White Cloud Mountain Minnows
2 Paradise Fish (1 male 1 female, females have the short fins ?)
2 German Blue Rams (1 male, 1 female)
5 Loaches (Most likely Kuhlis)
And I was thinking a pair of angels before, and everyone agreed (though I hadn't listed the Paradise pair). But I was thinking, maybe something a little different. Is there any other medium fish you could suggest? Or should I stick with this and the angels?
I had been thinking maybe a couple endlers guppies too. Would that be ok?

I personally think if you take out the paradise fish, you should add a Blood Parrot. But i maybe totally wrong in suggesting that.

Nah, they get up to 10", I would get one that was bred with Cons, and then he would serve himself all of my fish under 3" (White Clouds, fem. Bettas, Cherry Barbs, etc.)
Plus I don't think I want a fish that big. I had wanted a BP before, but after some thinking I realized I didn't want a fish that would grow bigger than 6", let alone 10.
What about a more exotic Apistogramma instead of the Rams? A pair of A. Cacatuoides would be lovely... Same water preferences, same tank size reqs, but much nicer to look at..

EDIT: There, a better pic that isn't so huge..

how about some more cherry barbs? you have enough "pairs" in your tank IMO and what your tank really needs is a nice big school of something.

Yeah thats what I would do...much more expensive than the rams but worth every dollar. On another note much more hardy than the Rams.

Agreed, I love apistogramma (all species)! While the BP would not reach 10 inches, it is certainly not compatible with the stock list you want, so you're totally right about that. Another thing- if you get an angel, it will likely eat Endler's livebearers when it gets large enough to do so. Also, angels and gouramis are not always compatible. Some get away with it, others have aggression problems.

Yup, no BP. I was just wondering about guppys or platys or something
I think I'll stick to rams considering how expensive that thing sounds...
As for my gouramis being agressive, I havent seen them ever agress or even assert themselves before, so I think I'm ok. Note that they are NOT the dwarf gourami color strain variety, but the true, peaceful honey.
Actually, they're not THAT expensive. You can get a pair from Liveaquaria.com for $60.. Considering that if you can get some fry, and how much your LFS is likely to pay for those fry, that's a pretty good price. You can get them on Aquabid for a lot less, if you trust Aquabid people.. GBRs cost $10 each on Liveaquaria.com, so Cacas are about 3x the price.. To me, it'd be well worth the price, so I could have a fish that's both beautiful and relatively rare in people's tanks. Name me one other person on this board that has them? Betcha can't.. Rams are cool, lovely fish, but everyone and their brother has them it seems. I guess I just like different fish..
Post a pic of that gourami? I'm planning gouramis for my 75g, and I'm having trouble finding info on one my LFS has. It's a reddish orange dwarf of some sort.. Lovely little critter.
I agree with the apistogramma's - they are brilliant fish imo and Corax's pic is exactly what I would look for.
And I also agree with JM - a nice big school of fish would really tie the tank together and make your centrepiece choices stand out all the more.

Well, if someone could buy me a male/female pair and ship em to me (of course I'd pay you the money for fish, shipping, and tip), I'd gladly buy some :joke:
But 60$?! And shipping to Canada on top of that?! Thats going to be around 120$!!

Hey DP, I thought those particular Apistogramma's were beautiful too so I called over to Big Al's near me and they do have them for sale and they are only $16.99 for a male/female pair. I can't have them right now because I'm planning my stock very slowly but I'm considering them for the future. Do you have a Big Al's nearby? Also, FYI, I have on order some very pretty brigs snails in pink, purple, blue and ivory which are only costing me $12 in shipping charges from a Canadian seller. So there are things out there for us...we just have to search a little more.

Lmao, I'm getting that deal except 7$ per snail, 3 of each snail = 12 snails for 21$, and shes throwing in SIX XTRAS!!
= 18 pretty snails for 21$, after shipping = 62$ :eek3:
She also sells bettas, and she has her own pics of them. www.Baycitybettas.com
Wish I could find Apistos that cheap around here. Called the NSLFS (3.5 hour drive), and the manager (very smart fish-wise man) said they carried all kinds, and that he could order any of them in at any time.

1 Pleco (not common) or 8 Sterbai / Albino corys?
3 Platys (2 female, 1 male)
Ok, so I want to try something besides angels if they get really agressive at breeding time. Should I stay with them, or get platys? Or can I do both?

Can someone plz anwser? I'd rather not have 75g stocking list #3 bite the dust...
Oh, and btw, I'll keep the angels if they dont kill everyone in spawning mode.
