I purchased a pair of these for $68 (got lucky on a clearance deal).

I changed the bubble counters for JBJ units with integrated check valves.

These Milwaukee regulators are fairly difficult to get a good, steady and consistent bubble count (compared to other choices out there). Also, the regulated side gauge is not the right type for an aquarium. I'll be replacing them with 0-15psi gauges in the near future.

These regulators would be great if you had a MIG welding setup and needed to regulate shielding gas flow in the 5 to 20 cf/hr range, but knowing what I know now, they wouldn't be my first choice for my planted tanks. However, I've got them, so I just work at making them work.

If you want an optimized setup, you need to go here:

Great CO2 Regulators and Gear (http://www.bestaquariumregulator.com)

Tap a few of the vendors to help keep the site open, and select "CO2 stuff" on the menu on the upper left of the page.

Maybe Rex could incorporate a built-in bubble counter like it has. That would be cool. Already had that link, I've been sitting at my desk at work drooling for the past two days. LOL

Oh, and thanks for the heads up on the side gauge.

You will not see built in bubble counters on my rigs.

1. The only needle valve I could fit them to easily would be the Ideal
2. The other valves connections, 10-32, are not designed to take mechanical stress and are easily broken.

I don't like having the bubble counter on the regulator. I run three tanks off 1 tanks and I need a bubble counter at each tank. Theres better regulators for the same price. Like I said they don't have the bubble counter built in and if you notice there is an on/off valve on the front and then a needle valve after the bubble counter. For what we do its better to go simple. That on/off valve would be plugged. You still have to turn the tank on, and I like regulators with electric solenoids built in so it could be hooked up to a timer.

I'm a plant nooblet...everything still looks so bright and shiny, but I'm speedily assimilating all of your most excellent knowledge.

Oh and btw Rex, I'm buying one of your regulators. I'm just pinging pennies to justify the ideal valve. A few more bumps on the noggin and I'll be ordering it.

Those Ideal valves are great valves. I'm glad I started offering them.

once its set you shouldnt have to worry much about it. it might look nice but would get in the way i think. $110 for it isnt even a very good deal. seen them on other sites for $80 ish.
