When I put together my tank again this spring I bought a new double deck steel stand. This week I purchased a second tank for the bottom. So I now plan to have my new world tank (which is already set up) and an African tank. It seems there are quite a few African owners here so I'm looking for some input. I'm a fairly experienced tank owner, but I've never tried African cichlids before. I've already gained a lot of knowledge just by looking through the threads, but if you were starting a new 55g and were looking for the best combination of color and personality what would you stock? So maybe it's a softball question, what's your favorite fish?

Lots of options and it really comes down to personal preferences and compatibility...see what you like.

If you were looking for them most colour with least aggression that a mbuna tank a tank of Aulonocara species Peacocks would be a good choice.

its really down to your personal opinion but when i was setting my tank up i thought that:
pseudotropheus demasoni
and
electric yellow lab
were a good combo for colours and some people say that demasoni cannot go with yellow labs becuase demasoni is to agressive but i have found that my demasoni's are only aggressive to they own kind and fish that look alot like them.
