Hi everyone,
I have 5 young yoyo loaches in my 45 long and was wondering what to feed them. They only seem to like bloodworms. I feed everyone else flake, sinking wafers, algae wafers, dafnia, shrimp pellets, etc. What do other folks feed them?
Thanks!

Sounds like you're giving them a varied diet. Yours just prefer the bloodworms. If you want them to eat everything else you feed, just don't feed the bloodworms. Frozen mysis shrimp would be a good addition.

Thanks Nolapete...I do have some frozen brine shrimp. I find it fouls the water, tho. I was thinking of thawing it and running it thru a strainer so that just the shrimp are left.

Thawing the brine shrimp and rinsing them is ok. I agree they do foul the tank. I always feed just enough at a time to be gone in 30 seconds and repeat if necessary. I don't rinse mine and this keeps the fouling down.
If you're going to feed frozen brine, soak them in some vitachem or other vitamin supplement available for aquariums. They are pretty much as nutrionless as feeding goldfish to large carnivores. Soaking the frozen brine makes them better.
Chopped cocktail shrimp and/or earthworms are good choices as well. Just a bit messy to deal with.

I hadn't heard that brine shrimp weren't very nutritious. I'll try the vitachem...as if I need another reason to go to the fish store! Hehehe. Oh well, one more chance to indulge my addiction!!

My Yoyo goes absolutely bonkers for live brine shrimp!
