i need to get alot more pond plants plus suitable groundcover surrounding the pond plus i want huge marginals covering up the entire back wall.

it has plants 2 greenfrog tadpoles i bought and one goldfish for mosquito control but im going to put it in a tank and get rosy reds since they are better and native.

also plan on getting a redspotted aka eastern newt.

alot of animals drink from this pond since i gave them easy access.

im going to get that solar power pond pump as well and i just put duckweed in the pond to spread out also

thankyou.

do you think its large enough for a newt. one guy here estimated its roughly 500 gallons. obviously you can keep a newt in a 10g tank but what im saying is, is likely to wander off. same thing for the frogs?

The only thing that is certain to stay in the pond are the fish. The frogs and newt are certain to wander off eventually. But dont worry about that. Mother nature is sure to provide substitutes from time to time.

Nice pond there guy! I know you have provided access for the local wildlife to drink which is great but be warned that any stock you may put in there could become raccoon food if you have them in your area. My ex had a great pond that we were constantly chasing the raccoonns away from, that and stocking half the pond centres around the state with baby fish... lol

cool pond. I like that you have a variety of fish and inverts; its very natural like that.

around here any volume of water is sure to have a snapping turtle in it at some point.. i hope for your fishs sake you don't have that experience..

yea there is a water strider here hanging out as well. i like to have a mix of animals there is more to look at. there wont be any turtles i live in a suburban neighborhood and there are no near bodies of water except a stream that is seperated by many houses and roads and a river and also there are 2 small ponds but thats a 3 minute drive
