Hello,

I'm looking to add another fish to my tank. Right now I have a yellow tang, coral beauty angel, mini-puffer, and a yellow candy hogfish in a 55 gallon tank with a 20 gallon fuge.

My wife has asked that the next fish that I add be one that swims out in the open and you actually see most of the time.

Can anyone recommend one in particular?

I'm curious about the green chromis too. I have 7 in qt now and they feed out of my hand..
they are always in a group swmming in the open..unlike the scopas in the tank that hides among the pvc tubes.

Royal Gramma...but I'm biased.

I don't have the chromis anymore. I tried to edit my signature but it doesn't seem to work. I took the Chromis out and took they back to the pet store.

Some great suggestions here but the hands down winner to the "most visible new fish for your tank" is a percula or false ocelaris clownfish. Day or night, even from across the room I can ALWAYS see my pair of perculas just glancing in the direction of my tank. I don't think I've ever seen them even swim through my rockwork and caves along the back of the aquarium.

That's a great point. They don't seem to go too much near the rockwork at all. Mine tend to hover above and usually in one corner. And, of course, they're colorful too. ;)

colorful yes, but mine also hover/swim in the top corner of the tank only coming out when i put my hands in to bite me.
They have drawn blood twice.
Friend have often said when viewing my aquarium "where are your clowns"
Cardinals are always out in the open to the point of boredom.
For cheap affective color i would of thought you couldn't beat the chromis in a small tank in a small sholl.
