I bought a large linear air pump and would appreciate any first hand advice on setting it up. It has a 1/4 inch nipple and will be used on 10 tanks on 1 wall. I want to connect it to p.v.c. and don't know whether to tee it up the middle or run it from one side. Should I run the p.v.c. the length of the wall and are all valves created equal? Do I have to wait for the cement to cure etc. I tested it already with a temporary set-up and it has air to spare. Will I have to bleed the excess air? Thank you. Mike

The best thing I've found to do is run a continious PVC loop... that way the air pressure circulates and dosen't fluctuate as much and is easier on the pump.

As far as bleeding the excess air goes... it really depends on the pump and how much excess you have. Sure couldn't hurt to add an extra valve for pressure adjustment if needed down the road.

Also, I'd probably give the PVC cement a good 24 hours before putting it to use to be on the safe side.

P.S. Spend the extra money on brass valves, more precise and reliable. Only like $1.00-$1.75/each.
