Here's a link to great freshwater and aquarium plant website. I recommend everyone looking at the site(s) and you will come away knowing much more about the hobby!

Thanks kveeti for taking the time to put it together! Great job! :)

Very cool--I really like the microscope pics! It's cool to see. Makes me think that maybe I should get one too, and check out the Sw tanks as well. Hmmm....!

Fantastic site! What great pics!

I loved the rock walls in the two tanks, I may have to steal that idea for my 10 gal... :)

Beautifull tanks Kveeti! I especially liked the the planted tank section. I too have a UGF filter in a planted tank and a sociable SAE that not only cleans tanks, but also allows Oto's to clean him without attacking. BTW, unrelated to fish but well worth the look, try Kveetis garden link (http://members.shaw.ca/dannec/gardmap.html). What a proffesional looking web page!
Kudos Joe for uncovering this treasure

Thank you, everybody, for the kind words.

But nobody has mentioned my best work (although not fishy related):

Very nicely done Kveeti.

Regarding the blepharisma and spirostomum; were they sampled from the substrate or the water column? And have you observed any stalked protozoans from the tanks? (in between beer chugs, of course).

Very interesting pics. I especially enjoyed viewing the entries to the AGA International Aquascaping Contest.

They were from the substrate, I find I get the most stuff from the substrate at the base of plants. I haven't seen any stalked protozoans that I know of, sometimes it's hard for me to tell that I'm actually seeing a something unless it moves.

Thanks for that info Kveeti. I’ve been monitoring succession and distribution in some tanks for awhile now and I’m always interested in what other people are seeing, or just as important, not seeing in their tanks. Again, you have nice fun site. :)

SBee - Trixie Belden was/is better than Nancy Drew any day IMO...

somefinnfishy - yes, it's pothos. There was a HUGE discussion on it on another board, sadly, they changed servers and that multi-page thread is lost... but anyway I've had it in my tanks for almost a year, although not the same pieces, I've replaced them once. Your cave is great, too!

Thank you. (I don't think sending plants over the border is allowed.) The tanks are still a work in progress, lately I haven't been able to fiddle much, just maintain because of family issues and gardening season... I have one anubias, it grows way too slowly but it has doubled since last year, maybe I should divide it.

anubias will grow from bare root so chop away:D If you want it to grow taller stick it in the corner and it's forced to grow up.I've had great luck banding to a small chunk of lava rock It roots to the stuff fast and grows better/faster with exsposed roots IMHO
