as a generalization, will cutting light wattage in half for 3 days stunt algae growth

Do a water change(50-70%), turn them off completely for 3 days, remove CO2, increase surface movement.

Cover with 2 layers of black trash bags if you have BGA or Green water.

Add back and get to the root when you get back, likely CO2 and lack of dosing.

Algae is supposed to be better at utilizing low light than plants. If this is true, then cutting the wattage would not likely hurt the algae, but may hurt the plants.

I would like plantbrain to verify this theory if possible, as it seems logical.
