View Full Version : where does HC grow?

i have some plants that look like hc in my front yard and i wanted someone to ID these for me. the spot is moist most of the time, and i thought it looked a lot like HC to me. someone help me out cuz if it is i can just get some for free thanks :)

thats funny. How cool would that be. Is it real small like HC?
HC is native to Cuba. I also don't think it grows far from water.

if it gets purple flowers, it's probably just clover

lol thats what i was thinking. i think hc is all connected also. that looks more like duckweed lol....

there aren't any flowers on it, and from my point of view, they seem to be rooted together. there are 4 petals with one tiny one on each growing out of the vine. thats the best way i can describe it.

yes it is actually pretty small. have they ever been found in the US? or just cuba?

the purple flowers would be later in he season, I think... mid summer.
I really doubt it's HC.

My guess is it could have been introduced anywhere but it usually grows along streams.

i thought it was found like.. 50 feet above water level of rivers.

i did some reading and found out hc is found only in cuba, but Hemianthus micranthemoides is also in north america. could it be hm then??

plant it and see if it grows in your tank...

yea i think ill try that... see what happens lol
