Okay, I'm really bad at identifying plants. I think this first one is either Ludwigia repens or Rotala. It's growing like crazy. I keep cutting it and planting the tops and within about 10 days it needs to be cut again.

This plant grows very fast too once it gets established. Can't even make a guess at what it is.....

Any ideas? They would be much welcome.

the first one is ludwigia repens. very pretty plant, i recently got some myself.

the second one looks like limnophila aromatica. if i remember correctly, it's supposed to be a hard plant to grow.

BTW, nice plants, they look very healthy.

Nice Repens Boos....you must be doing something right!!!!!
Lotsa light I'll bet.
BTW, everyone notice the pearling on the bottom of the leaves on the Repens. Sometimes people don't notice that some plants pearl on the undersides of the leaves.

The two top pictures are of the same plant. The one that is reder is a cutting from the top that I replanted.

I'm beginning to think that maybe that third one is a terriestrial, tarestreal, trestrial.....oh heck, an earth plant.
If it is limnophila aromatica I would think it should have a smell to it. Aromatica sounds like aroma to me. Or should I say it smells like aroma to me.

They seemed to have really taken off since I increased the lighting. I now have over 4 watts per gallon..... and I'm sooooo pleased. :D

well I a lot of stuff on the limnophila aromatica there seems to be a terestrial and an aquatic. The terestrial seems to be a spice plant and looks totally diffrent from the aquatic. If you click the site I gave earlier youll see that there is the aquatic and it does look like what you have.

It does look very much like it.

If you look here...

...it is very similar except that mine in much reder and bushier.

By the way that site is excellent for showing photos of plants, if you know the name of it.

The last plant looks like Rotala indica. I have some of this plant, and grows incrediably fast. I do not have as much light as you seem to have, the tops of mine have a slight touch of red.

Did you see how there were 5 plants with that name that all looked diffrent?

it's definitely not rotala indica (aka rotala rotundifolia), nor a mayaca species

initially i compared it to this http://members.fortunecity.com/macrophytes/pgplant39.jpg
especially the jagged edges, very distinctive

Gee, I didn't even notice there were 5 different shots there.

Most deffinately it's the third one. Right down to the snails. Ha!

It must like this PEI water because I bought it just before I put up my new tank. It was planted in the old tank for about 3 weeks. Just long enough to get it's roots wet when I yanked it up and put it in the new tank. Now it's starting to grow again, and it's doing quite well.

The link picture you can tell how large the leaves really are. After taking a closer look I can tell now that the leaves are serrated. Missed that the first time. Very neat looking plant, but no idea what it is.

What's truly amazing about this plant is that I bought it right here at home, where I can't even get an otto.
