Kenyi's magical stripes!

Can all kenyis make their stripes appear and disappear at will?

When it's all hostile and chasing other fish it's stripes are dark black, but as soon as I show up they almost completely disappear.

Most cichlids are capable of utilizing colorations like that, and I imagine that Kennyis are no exception...it's interesting that they have different aggression coloration from normal coloration...

My con's and jack dempsey do that and it always has me wondering lol. I know it has something to do with their moods too. And with the jack its stress, strength and so on.


EDIT: strength as in sick or weak not as in im a badass so I can have cool colors :p sorry I didn't specify that

Yes, the stripes on a Ps. lombardoi can disappear under a number of circumstances. Very common.
