What is your favorit plant and why?

yeah, mosses are great, terrestrial and aquatic. I really like my dwarf sag, because it grows well, took root quickly, and the otos like to lay on it, which is pretty cute. I love the look of glosso in pictures, except for my pictures... lol. it's such a pain. I also have a red leaved bulb plant that I like a lot, don't know what it is, but it's the same color as the cherry barbs, and they seem to like to congregate around it. madagascar lace is also very cool, but from what I read, a pain once it flowers... people reccomend taking it out, and storing it in a cool place for several weeks and then replanting it.. guess it needs a dormant period.

I did like my Rotala rotundifolia because of the nice pink tips, but it's growing so fast, I'm having to prune almost every week and I've had to clip my dwarf sag the past two water changes because it's no longer so dwarf at 8+ inches.

I would have to say my favorite is now the Limnophila aromatica. It also has pinkish tones on green and is finally starting to grow side branches, slowly. I've moved it towards the center to give it more light and showspace.

I am still at the Ricca stage.

Right now I would say my P. stellata 'broadleaf'. It gets nice and tall to fill in the back and has great color. I love the leaf shape and it grows quickly, but not at an insane rate, like the L. aromatica and the various rotalas.

I had some P. Stellata also, but had only about 2 wpg, so it wasted away. I'm tempted to try again now that I have over 3wpg, but I'm a little afraid I'll kill it again. Also, my tank is quite full, but I'm always wanting more. LOL, I've spent more than 5X on plants than on fish.

Anubias nana, with big green leaves and ability to attach itself adds a lush look to any size aquarium. It was my first plant and still my favorite

Cut leaf sprite... I don't know the scientific name for it. Simply because of how well it has grown.

I do love Alternanthera reineckii and anubias coffe so far... the first for its beautiful colors and the second for the rippled, dark leaves which add an exotic tropical touch with minimal care requirement.

I'm sure as I 'learn and grow' with plant-keeping and care, I'll probably expand on this list... but for now, I like those a lot. :)

right now i been getting into different mosses. i really like the Weeping Moss and the flame moss now.

I love my flame moss!!! :grinyes:
