I was wondering if a black convict will breed with an albino pink convict. All replies are welcomr:)

They are still the same species and can certainly still breed together. Convicts also will unfortunately breed with most of the other Cryptoheros species as well.

Mine do all the time. I just haven't got any albino babies from them yet.

No, they aren't a hybrid then. A hybrid is the cross of two different species. Pinks are just another color strain of the black convict. When you cross a black with a pink, you are most likely going to get all black babies with a hidden or recessive gene to produce pinks, unless your black already has the pink recessive gene. If both parents carry the gene, then you'll get some pinks and some blacks. There's all kinds of percentages based on which genes the parents carry.

In my experience, they are only likely to breed with other Cryptoheros if no other convicts are available to breed with.

If you breed a black convict and a pink convict, you will get mostly black fry. Some will be pink. If you breed those, then the 3rd generation will be calico (blotched).

You will not get calico from 3rd generation pink/black cross. Calico is its own color morph just as pink is.
