Alrighty, Here we go, My plans for my 75 gallon tank are nearly complete. For filtration I am going to go with a Marineland Canister Filter, Two Penguin 350 bio wheel filters on either side of the tank.(no bio wheels to avoisd any nitrate issues), a Coralife Protein Skimmer, and liverock mixed in with regular tufa rock and base rock to cut back on costs. It will become live from the other liverock. This tank will be based on the barebottom philosophy. It will be very very easy to keep the tank clean do to the little bit of overkill in filtration and it being barebottom. But a little overkill in filtration is always good. I plan on going with a canyon look with rocks piled up on either side of the tank in different heights and shapes, then a small strip of sand(probably 1 or 2 inches) will run in between the to "hills" of rocks to get realistic look. I will have probably altogether 5 powerheads, one in every corner and one in the center of the back panel to keep any waste from settling in and behind the rocks, the velocity on these will not be to high, not to the point where the fish are stuck to the side of the tank:grinyes: I will keep the sand well vaccumed also. Do you think this will be successful? If not, Give me some ideas to make it successful. Hel pis appreciated. P.S, I may add another filter:grinyes:

I would add a 30 or so G sump to help with water volume and that way you could put the filters and skimmer downstairs (so to speak) tucked away from view. Adding a refuge, would cut down on ATES as well. What are you doing in this tank? Im assuming FOWLR? If you do an 1" or 2" sand bed be wary that it will cut down on some of the fish selection that you might want to get as some require a DSB, but if thats not as issue your plans look pretty solid.

P.S> Dont forget to have a higher ratio of LR to Base Rock, Helps seed it a heck of a lot faster.

Thanks, I'll look into adding a sump, I'm glad all the typing did not go to waste.
