Anyone know a good source of red turquoise discus. I'm looking for the ones that are the original form with strong barring.

Those are the type I want, but I'm iffy on the quality of the strain based on the pic and description. It sounds like their coloration is inconsistent.

When you go to check out, you can get quantity so the pic dosen't go for all of them. Just do a LONG (and sometimes tedious) google search. It may take time, but just keep searching.
Maybe try this, (I haven't looked around here too much but you never know what you may find) rockymountaindiscus.com

It's funny, on that site they say discus breeders typical try to breed to remove the black stress bars. I like that with the red turquoise; that they have strong barring. I'm probably one of few in comparison. Not that I don't like the ones without barring and even those without pattern, just color. It's just that red turquoise with the barring have always been my favorite.

Don't buy from them, one of the worst discus sellers around. Read this http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showthread.php?t=41161

Good to have that confirmation. I would never order from a place called somethingfishy.

I may check him out, but he's shutting down fish sales for the summer. I'm thinking that German Red Turquoise are the ones I want, but I'm still researching it.

DO NOT get any kind of fish from somethingphishy. Bad business all the way!! I have 2 adult red turqs I purchased from Mathias, a domestic breeder at discusmadness.com. Don't know if he has any with bars, but worth checking. Also, check with discusdave.com. and vlad's discus. All reputable discus people with great stock! If you need some other leads, let me know.
