if you want to breed something, get guppies or platies. they'll breed so efficiently you;d wish they never started.:grinyes:

You could also try blue eyes, they're Aussie natives, almost all species are small enough to fit into a ten gallon tank, and pretty easy to breed (not quite as easy as guppies though). They're pretty unique in that they have some interesting finnage. You can check out some pics of the different species here:

The blue eyes genus is Pseudomugil, so most of those species will fit in a 10gal.
I also think that these are some particularly nice blue eyes pics from a hobbyist who IMHO is a great photographer. It's not easy to take pics of blue eyes as they are very active little fish.

omg! Thank you soo much TheXman hopefully my pet store has got them.
could i have more than 1 breed breeding in my tank because i like all of them so far part from platies and guppies (i LOVE Blue eyes [there finage is amazing] Endlers and and the other one? rainbow fish??)
Im realling hopeing my fish shop has got em!
soo could i have like 2 female of each and 1 male of each?
that'll be wicked, but probably not going to happen.

The different blue eye species will interbreed with each other, so best to keep only one species of blue eyes in a tank together, but adults should do fine with endlers in the same tank. I think the only problem might be that endler adults will probably eat the fry, but they probably do it with their own anyway (there's also a good chance that blue eyes will eat their own fry too for that matter, but I'm not sure on that), so you'd probably have to get a tank to dedicate for fry or maybe use a breeder net. First things first though, if you can get some of these fish, get them established in the tank, then worry about breeding (and probably get a second tank, even if you just had one species because when fish start breeding, the bioload outgrows small tanks pretty quickly). Where abouts in Oz are you? There are ANGFA chapters all over Australia with lots of hobbyists very interested in native fish who would keep different blue eyes species that you might be able to get some from. Also, if you're in the Northern part of the country, there's a good chance you could go to your local creek and catch your own blue eyes! As for numbers, you could go with one male and two females, but I'd start with 2 males and 3 females for the blue eyes, they'll show more natural behavior in a group this size, the males will show off their finnage more often, and the resultant offspring will have more genetic diversity which will be good for your future breeding stock.
