Stuck Nitrites!

I've been fishless cycling for about 5 weeks now. My ammonia levels drop to 0 in about a 12 hour period, but my nitrites have been stuck at 0.50 for about 2 weeks now. I've tried a couple partial water changes and can't get them down.

Any idea on how to speed along this process?

Can you seed from anywhere? Have the test results been confirmed by a different test (ie, the LFS)?

How much ammonia are you dosing into what size tank?

I went through the same thing with my fishless cycle, my nitrites spiked and wouldnt come down. Finally I cut the amount of ammonia I was adding in half. That seemed to help.

At this point, I'm only adding about 4-5 drops (maybe a little less than half a teaspoon) to my 20 gallon, hoping the lower amount helps.
