I want to put one of my fish pics up for critique on
a photography forum, but I can't decide on which one,
Maybe you guys can help me out by choosing one.
Ps, if you think all the pics are rubbish, i'll go try again.
Thanks for looking

I like the pic of the sajica..but all are very nice!
1,10, 5, 8 in that order.
I especially like 1 because it shows the absolute beauty of that little corydoras which is an underappreciated subject. I really liked it the first time you posted it as well.
I just love that fish in 10 - apisto something ?
Then 5 is brilliant because of the way the plec and his resting place tie in together.
And 8 is just a great shot of a big mean fish.
Now having said that there isn't a bad pic there between them but you're used to hearing that :D
edit 3 is also a very cool shot - the colouration and the backdrop work very well.

Speaking from an artist's point of view (and not just looking at the fish)...
3 is the best with 7 a close second. These two have a very definite point where the eye first encounters the image and then can explore the rest of the picture. 3 has a nice semi-focused background that allows the subject to be shown in the best light. 7 has no background to distract the eye and I like how the subject almost fades into the background.
1 is nice and the shadow is a neat touch, but still not quite as good as 3.
As far as fish go, I love the clowns and the cory.
I also think that in 1 the way the fish is totally in sharp focus from nose to fin tip is very impressive in an aquatic picture.

I like 2, 5, and 6...with full nods towards 6 definitely...:)

I like 5 and 6, and all the others excellent work. 5 is unique in that the way you captured the pleco it's hard to tell if it is alive or stuffed.

#8 and #1. The sharpness of the focus and the extreme close ups are spectacular. Not easy to do at all. those my two picks that jumped out at me immediately.

I agree also with 1,5, and 6 leaning more to 1. The light really picks up the colors in the fish. The quality on all of them are excellent! Great job!

7, 1 and 8, although it's a shame that the very tip of 8's fin is cropped off or that would be the best. 4 and 10 are my second favourites. As photos. My favourites as fish are 3, 6 and 9. I love the slightly goofy expression on 9's face.

1,2,5 & 10 are fantastic examples of the species IMO. They are far superior to many "species" photos. I think you'd be doing the industry a big favor if you submitted them to sites describing fish characteristics/backgrounds as many are dim, out of focus or are simply poor examples of the species. As a NOOB, I am always amazed at how different a fish can look from one site to the next while researching different species.
Artistically, I'm at a loss to choose.
Nice photo's.

What a tough choice. You did an excellent job with those photos and have some lovely fish. I think I'd have to pick #5 as my favorite =)
