The ballast that came with my AH Supply kit is supposed to use a 55watt bulb. I have some 65watt bulbs that are the same length as the 55s, anybody know if using these bulbs would create a problem? I've had some heat problems going the other way, putting a 55w in a 65w fixture.

the ballast is rated for the wattage to run the bulb to its best capabilities and long term use, overclocking or using a low watt bulb on a high wat ballast cause extreme heat and shorter bulb life. doing the opposite of that would have to opposite effect. your bulb life would last longer but it would not be as bright or efficient.

I really dont see a problem with using the 65w bulbs, as long they ahve the correct endcaps.

AH Supply responded to my email to them, said it would be fine.
Put them in last night and they seem to be running cooler with a lot of light.
Thanks for the help!
