Are mollys bottom feeders? The have been eatting my emerald green catfish's algea wafers. Will this hurt them?:grinyes:

no they arent bottom feeders, but they will follow food around the tank no matter what level its in.

lol, i agree. Mollies are like that; they just want food. And no, the wafers wont hurt them. If your other bottom feeder is having trouble getting to them, try placing them were the bollies cant easilt find them, like under a piece of driftwood or cave.

the vegetable matter in the wafers may acctually be good for them

I got wafers today as a treat for my otos, and the cherry barbs swarmed the wafers... the otos didn't even get any!

m,y mollies do the same thing. turns out they eat algae in the wild.

I feed my Mollie algae wafers. They basically peck at stuff all day long for food. They can be gluttons if you let them be! Same goes for the Gouramis! :(

I read about mollies beeing good algae eaters. showed to be true, have no thread algae anymore. so believe no problem with algae weafers. agree with jon that it might actually be good for them.
