I ordered some of these carpeting plants while I was away, and just wondered if anyone had any more information on them. I have read they make great carpeting plants, as long as they are pruned right, and can easily be grown in seed trays - 1st layer course gravel, 2nd layer aquatic compost, 3rd layer damp sand - water filled to rim of tray, and then they can be transferred to the aquarium (will be in one with a silver sand substrate - which I have heard they prefer) when I want some. They should multiply quite rapidly in these trays....

So if anyone has any more information on these plants, please let me know.

Thanks!
Thom.

From my experience they need lots and lots of light, make sure you have alot of light penetrating to all parts of these plants, larger plants shading these plants will cause them to grow taller than you'd prefer ruining your carpet effect. They grow vigorously once established in the right conditions and needs constant pruning so the under layers of the plant do not die off. They also eat up alot of macro nutrients.
