I moved my otos to my fry tank yesterday so they could feast on the algae in that tank. It is the only tank I can successfully grow algae in LOL. This morning as I was feeding my platy and guppy babies I noticed a clutch of eggs in their tank on the base of the heater. The only other tank inhabitants besides the fry are my two otos and a colombian rams horn snail. I have read that the ram horn needs a mate to reproduce. So, they gotta be oto eggs right?? Anyone else have success raising oto fry? If they do hatch what should I feed them? Should I take the parents out? Will they be okay with the other fry in the tank?

Says to feed them infusoria?? Is this something I can pick up at a LFS?? Right now all I have on hand is baby brine shrimp :(

You won't need to feed them anything. They'll feed on the microalgae on the glass. They don't eat brine. You can put a small piece of cucumber or zuchinni in there for them.

Well here is to hoping! The eggs are all a pinkish color and have a little tiny dot in them. I will be soo darn excited if they make it :)

Soak a raw potato in a cup of tank water for about a week - the dump the cup into the tank ;) (I think - do some research to be certain of the exact process.)
