First of all, you are already grossly overstocked. Just the four orandas are too much for a 20 gallon long. They grow fast, and they will need a bigger tank.

Do you mean a livebearer tropical fish? They need higher temperatures and different food requirements. You really shouldn't mix tropicals and cold water fish.

A male and a female shouldn't be kept together. Breeders put the female in with the male after the bubble nest, and remove the female after mating, so he doesn't kill her.

:iagree:

Yeah, you kind of need to find something to do with the oranda and one of the betta, like, really soon.
After that,
If there is any light like from a window or a desk lamp near the tank, you could probably have javamoss grow in there if she would allow that..The livebearers would love that. You can use it with the plastic plants to decorate or to hide the filter. Orjust let it float like a grean cloud. Then put the marble things around the bottom of a plastic plant and it could be like a cartoon island.
Anyway, It would be easy to vaccuum.

Way too overstocked. Orandas get 8" and really, really BIG. Livebearers can't go with them, and they'll prolly pick off they're slime. And the bettas will prolly fight.

yeah that could work but the java moss she hate it

Bummer

well, see about getting a better home for the fish in there now, first off... then, hmmm
How artistic are you? with poster paint and or cut paper, you can make some cool backgrounds on the outside of the tank. heck, you could paint or paper the glass on th bottom of the tank too.
The more I think about it, there are lots of things you could do within those limits. Only thing, I don't know what would be ok with your mother.
many plants can grow with just their roots in the water, but outside the tank... would that be cheating? You could decorate the outside of the tank all kinds of ways. making a sort of 'frame to look at the fish through, then u wouldnt notice the missing gravel or anything...
Just ideas to think about, I guess, while you are getting your stocking levels down.
good luck

thank
well the plant out side is a bad idea
but im a verry good artist
i have 5 award so i think i could do that
so i'll try

Congratulations on your many awards.
Now you know what is meant by the saying "Think outside the box" ;-)
Good luck findig a better place for your Orandas and one of your bettas.
