Check out loaches.com. Really cool fish with special needs, they'll be the reason I set up a river tank someday.
I have 1 in my unheated tropicals tank, all the fish are fine, and it gets plenty of airation...

They're a really cool fish; I plan on including a few in my co-workers asian themed tank. (see thread "will loaches eat cherry shrimp?" if interested)
like otheres have said, they need LOTS of water movement and water highly saturated in oxygen, making it hard to keep them in planted tanks with co2
