The thought just crossed my mind........

I have a 55 gallon cichlid aquarium that I am looking to redo with community fish. However......Would it be possible to turn this aquarium into a fish only saltwater aquarium? Thoughts? It has a canister filter what else would I have to get if it is possible?

Sure, why not? I see you already have a 30G saltwater so you basically know what a marine tanks needs. The canister filter would be optional (but if you decided to use it I would change out the media) and I'd be putting a minimum of 55lbs of live rock in. You'll have to consider if you want a skimmer and what kind of flow you'd like.

What kind of fish do you have in mind? If you truly want just a "fish only" then the lighting isn't as important versus if you wanted a reef.
