German blue and gold rams

Will German blue rams and gold rams inter breed? If so what would be the result?

They are both Microgeophagus ramirezi (formerly known as Apistogramma ramirezi and Papiliochromis ramirezi). They won't care about color just like pink convicts will spawn with black or calicos. General genetics. If the blue doesn't carry the gold gene as recessive, they should all turn out blue with gold recessive. Cross those and you should get some rendition of 25/50/25.

my LFS just got a bunch of both in. i think i might get 3 or 4 of each and see what happens. i'll call them FRANKIN FISH. lol

would a 55g tank be to small for that many?

for 3 or 4? They'd think they were in a palace. That's plenty of room.

That would be plenty of room, assuming you don't have any larger tankmates. What is your current stock?

that should be fine as long as the tank isnt already fully.over stocked and the tankmates are suitable.
