I have beyond all the other comuity tanks, 2 cichlid tanks, one is a 20g with three "africn mix" one is a electric yellow ( the one with the black across its fin, one blue umm... can't remember right now and a grey one, i have had them for a while, they are all still small, less then 2". then I got a 29g, which i bought my "resue baby" I have posted pic's on, but the LFS owner talked me into buying two of "his girls" that where in the tank with Milo, so I did, later that night after actually getting to look at them i dicovered one is female the other a male, all three are Zebra's (?) I will post anouuther pic with the thread. Anyway the question is that i find Milo is now chasing the other two smaller tank mates and was thinking maybe i should put them in the 20g with the other "mixed cic's" I observed them acting like they want to breed, of course i don't really want any fry, no room, no time!

the 20 gallon is already too small for the mixed cichlids, putting more of them would be even more detrimental to their development. They may end up breeding with the other mixed and who knows what you'll end up with. is there a way for you to return the last 2 that you purchased?

I hope more people comment on here. It's always better to have more opinions/experiences. This is just mine.

55 gallons and up for mbuna.

You should look into smaller Tanganyikan cichlids with the tank sizes that you have.

A larger tank would be beneficial.

well if you don't want fry (and you don't appear to have any tank for them) you're going to have to separate the males & females.

it would be great if you could combine your 2 tanks into a 55 gallon or more; its a much better way to keep them.

I can say what the others already said...but no point in doing that...hope ya can get a bigger tank for your cichlids or just go with Tanganyikan for the 29 and keep the 20 as a QT or fry tank...just in case you do get babies...but everyone already said a bigger is always better...and Mbuna are 55 minimum for a tank set up...but Milo is cute though...:)
