I know that I am a newbie...but I wasn't ready to see a ricordia move over and "attack" a toadstool. The ricordia started putting it's tenticles on the toadstool and the toadstool retracted all it's tenticles in the area that the two were touching. Not sure if it was a genuine "attack" or what, but I moved the ricordia away on it's own rock. That was wild to see it move over the course of an hour and a half about an inch to the toadstool.

Anyone else have this happen, or know if the ricordia could do damage to the other coral(s)?

Thanks.

I've had a large ricordia yuma do battle with our bubble coral. Both were about equally damaged, so I wouldn't say either "won." Each fully recovered in a couple of days, but the touching was minimal -- a bubble coral sweeper / feeding tentacle touched a couple of the nubs near the edge of the ricordia.

Do you know what the ricordia uses to attack? I didn't think they sting the other coral.
