View Full Version : excellent book for cichlid fans
The net is great but sometimes its nice to sit down with a book.
I just collected volumes one and two fo "Cichlids The Pictorial Guide" by Pablo & Ian Tepoot and it is stunning.
Not much text, just hundreds and hundreds of fabulous photographs and good basic 'need to know' information.I highly reccomend them.

Hi Coler,
I must agree with you. The pair of books by Pablo Tepoot are excellent references. Although they were authored in 1994 and 1996, the information continues to provide clear and concise data to identify both males and females of the species. The photos are large and clear. Volume II offers improved codes which gives the reader quick general information about the species. The author usually includes a short paragraph giving information specific to the species. I use the book regularly as a guide. The photographs in other texts do not compare to the quality of those in the Tepoot volumes.
Hi FishNet,
Yep they are very enjoyable - they sit on my coffee table. Stunning pics - even non fishy people like them.

I have volume 1 and it is a stunning book. I love looking through it. I wish there was a more up to date version though. Many scientific names have changed since the book was released.
