Lighting problems

Hi guys
have bought a red sea max and although the T5 lights start normally if i switch them off and try and switch them back on they flash once then thats it, leave if for half an hour and lights work great!
could this be to do with heat or the starter or a combo of both?

Hopefully someone else will chime in with specific info on these lights, but it sounds like a common restart delay. Many (maybe all) metal halide systems require the bulbs/ballasts to cool back down before re-starting if the lights are cut off. Sounds like yours do too.
