This week for my boyfriend's birthday I helped him get his 35-gal goldfish tank going again. In accordance with the school of feng shui that we follow (I swear we are not hippies, just strange people) we got six red goldfish and one black. At the LFS I managed to find seven healthy-looking and active fish: one comet, one black moor, two ryukin, and three orandas. They all seem very docile and interact well in the tank. However, I have one particularly large-bellied ryukin that SITS (not in a sickly way, more in an Al Bundy on Married With Children way) on the gravel at the bottom. He spends about 20% of his time doing this; otherwise, he is quite active and putters around the tank with the rest of the fish but the way he sits and looks out towards our living room... it's completely bizarre.
Has anyone seen anything like this before? I'm not really concerned as much as intrigued.
