I bought 2 small rocks with some mushrooms on it. One with 3 green mushrooms (has bumps on the mushroom, glows under actinic), and one with 4 brickish colored mushrooms (relatively smooth). I have a 20 gallon tank and all I have in there right now is about 15 lbs of live rock some hermit crabs, brittle star, turbo snails, and a damselfish. I have been getting a lot of different feedback on where to place the mushrooms. I know they like low current. I have 2 65W = 130W total compact florescent lights. I dont know whether to place them in indirect light or directly under the light. The brickish mushroom seems to be doing ok wherever but the green one is loosing its color. I know they lose color when they dont have enough light or they have too much light. so where am i suppose to put them?

For what it's worth I keep my shrooms right under my halide (70W on a 10 gal) I'd post a pic but I just fraged it so it is reall little and unhappy.

I guess the best thing to do is first place the mushroom in a low current place . Then see if it likes direct light or indirect light. I have done so much research on mushrooms and the best thing they tell me is to just see if the mushroom likes the place I put it. How do I know if my green mushroom is losing color because of burning or bc it doesnt have enough light?

my two shrooms seem to like lower/med current, they kind of "billow in the breeze" when the current's too high, so it looks like they can't catch any marine snow to feed.
