Hey Everyone,

My largest fish, (the mother that just released fry) has begun to dig a large sized hole to create cave. This is the first time I've seen her do this, and none of the other fish are doing it.

Reasons?

:) There diggers, our red zebra must be part gopher, the other ones must be happy, cichlids like caves and things that resemble them ....:)

Totally normal. All mbuna do this and will move substantial amounts of gravel around. Make sure your rockwork is not vulnerable to a collapse due to digging.

I put this video here because its of general interest ; shows how much they will move around.

the guy who did this put them in the tank specifically to show the behaviour - the tank is obviously not for permanent residence
