So, I'd like to start a seahorse tank. Can anybody tell me anything I need? What species of seahorse is best for a newbie to seahorses? Tank stats? Food? What are their tankmates? I've got a 40 g tank, is that a good size? What stories do you have of your seahorses?

I love them but don't keep them. The success stories I've heard of them typically involve seasoned aquarists and keeping them with other hard to keep gentle species like pipefish that won't out compete them for food.

would go for Reidi seahorses they do well with flow and higher temps, and i had success with the in my reef for over 2 years and unfortunately lost them to freak accidents. typically they should be tank raised as well so they eat frozen foods. 2-3 times daily feeding is also needed.
